A person who is an adult can be described as a person or animal who has attained complete growth.The biological definition of the term is the animal has reached sexual maturity and thus capable of reproducing. In the realm of human beings, adult is a reference to the social and legal aspects. Legal adults are those who attains the age of maturity. They are defined as an independent, self-sufficient person, and responsible. It is also possible to view them as an "major". The age when a child becomes an adult legally is 18 years old, however the definition of"legal maturity" is different based on the country or legal system in place, and also the psychological condition of the child.

Human development is the time during which mental and physical maturity is attained. Adulthood is typically thought of as beginning at age 20 or 21 years. The typical middle-age starts at 40 or so years old. It is then it will be around 60. The three phases of adulthood include early adulthood (from the mid 30s until late 60s), middle adulthood from mid-30s until late-60s and then later adulthood, (mid-60s until end of life). When we reach early adulthood the body is at its full physical maturity. However, our height and our weight can increase. As we enter our early adulthood, our physical abilities are at their peak which includes muscle strength, reaction time as well as sensory capabilities, heart function.
